Hank Hill’s Glutes Are Properly Diminished in His ‘Fortnite’ Cameo

Fortnite to kick some ass, even if he doesn’t have any himself.
The Hulu revival of King of the Hill is still a ways away, with the streamer eyeing an August 4th premiere date for all 10 episodes of the new season. However, in the pop-culture climate of 2025, the marketing campaign for a sitcom coming back from the dead after a nearly 16-year hiatus can’t start soon enough, and the war for young viewers’ attention starts in the eye of the Storm and slowly closes over the course of about a half an hour.
Don't Miss
As the King of the Hill hype train slowly begins to pick up steam, Hulu has partnered with the popular battle royale video game Fortnite for a special Father’s Day tie-in where Hank Hill will be an unlockable skin for players to purchase for a limited time. And, as Fortnite revealed, the character model is Dr. Tate approved:
Yes, Hank’s famously flat ass, for which he was diagnosed with Diminished Gluteal Syndrome in the Season Five episode “Hank’s Back Story,” hasn’t been altered for his appearance in Fortnite, a game famous for over-emphasizing the curves on its character models. Fans of both King of the Hill and the massively successful third-person shooter will have a perfect view of Hank’s nonexistent posterior as they battle for first place against Superman and Bob Belcher.
However, as King of the Hill fans discussed in a viral post about Hank’s foray into Fortnite on the King of the Hill subreddit, the Hill Family patriarch’s caboose isn’t the only piece of the canon that the game will have to preserve, lest it provoke the ire of the fandom. “They better make anything he builds immaculate,” one wrote. “Hank would never sleep again if he’d built those ramshackle walls and roofs.”
Additionally, the habitual do-gooder and rule-follower may have a hard time participated in some unsanctioned virtual violence, given his experience with such video games in the Season 11 episode “Grand Theft Arlen.” Another fan joked of Hank’s participation in such mayhem, “Where’s the button to turn myself in?”
But, ultimately, Hank will have to put aside his famously stiff moral convictions when he drops into Fortnite this weekend and causes some damage. Let’s just hope the players don’t try to put him on a lawn mower.
