Shortly after the news broke that King of the Hill star Jonathan Joss had been shot and killed during a violent altercation with a neighbor on Sunday evening, fans flocked to social media to memorialize the late John Redcorn actor.

“I’m not really a praying man, but I truly hope Jonathan is at peace,” losing his San Antonio home and two dogs in a fire earlier this year. “Just horrible, heartbreaking news.” 

“A very good actor who had a ton of depth,” another recalled of Joss’ acting chops, taking care to note his portrayal of Chief Ken Hotate of Parks and Recreation as well. “As good as his performance as Jon Redcorn was, he stole every scene he was part of on Parks and Recreation,” they added, as a third memorialized the star using his King of the Hill character’s now iconic song lyrics. 

“There’s a hole in my heart where you used to go,’” they recalled, quoting John Redcorn’s metal band, Big Mountain Fudgecake. “RIP to a legend.”
