Hanks’ uncharacteristically bad depiction of The King’s manager horrified critics. David Erlich called the role “possibly the most insufferable movie character ever conceived,” and wasn’t alone in thinking so — the portrayal earned Hanks two Golden Raspberry Awards: one for Worst ing Actor and another for Worst On-Screen Combo, which went to his accent and his awful prosthetics.
