‘King of the Hill’ Sneak Peek Bombshell: Hank’s Urethra Still Narrow

Looking at the ATX TV Festival schedule and seeing that the King of the Hill at the historic Paramount Theatre was supposed to run from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., I wondered if the plan was to show one episode of Season 14 ( the festival’s Righteous Gemstones two years ago, attendees were treated to the first two episodes of the show’s then-imminent third season — plus a musical mini-concert beforehand and a discussion afterward. And an episode of King of the Hill is only about 21 minutes long. Surely the festival couldn’t expect their to sit for a group interview for nearly a full hour!

Ultimately, the sneak peek turned out to be quite literal: a peek at a minute or so of the Season 14 premiere; I’m not even sure if it was the first minute. What I am sure of is that it was important to someone to remind us of one of Hank Hill’s foundational attributes, just as significant as the fact that he is a Texan and that he sells propane and propane accessories.

Hulu’s promotional push for the new King of the Hill kicks off with a clip in which Hank (voice of Mike Judge), in the lavatory on a plane about to touch down at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, struggles to empty his bladder. As a line of impatient engers clamor for him to get on with it, the ever-ive Peggy (Kathy Najimy) announces to the plane at large that the delay is not Hank’s fault: “He has a narrow urethra!”

Some things will change in the new season; Hank’s urological deformity difference isn’t one of them.
