The Milksteak Scene From ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Is Even Funnier As A Cartoon

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia universe, but now the cartoon world can experience the sublime joy of milksteak served with the finest jelly beans — raw, of course.
Given that the janitor and rat-basher of Paddy’s Pub has the intelligence of a traumatized child and the reading level of a literal infant, Charlie and animation have long gone together like cat food and glue-huffing. Back in the “A Very Sunny Christmas” special, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia established that Charlie’s very loose connection with reality is further complicated by the fact that he daydreams and hallucinates in animated scenes, sometimes featuring a pants-less elf. In “The Gang Saves the Day,” Charlie’s vision for how his life would go following a convenience store stick-up was an extended Up parody in which he and the Waitress raised a family of babies they bought at the baby store.

Basically, Charlie’s inner life is one big fucked-up cartoon, so it only makes sense to reimagine one of the best glimpses inside Charlie’s psyche as a masterwork of animation. As such, I give you surrealist artist Doctor Nowhere’s take on the iconic dating profile scene from the Season Five episode “The Waitress is Getting Married”:
Doctor Nowhere’s reimagining of the classic It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia scene that first introduced the culinary wonders of milksteak to the Always Sunny canon captures the absurdity of the scene while adding the artist’s own distinct style and voice to the exchange, even if the real Dennis would object to his cartoon alter ego’s depiction as a spear-nosed bald man who probably bears some likeness to the ghouls whom Charlie so famously likes.
Moreover, the demonic grin on Charlie’s face directly after he says the word “ghouls” is a brilliant reinterpretation of Charlie Day’s actual expression in the live-action scene. And, as Doctor Nowhere’s followers expressed in the comments, it makes a strong case for the artist doing an entire Always Sunny animated series — their talent is absolutely magnetic.
