Kaitlin Olson may have earned her comparisons to comedy legends Lucille Ball, but not everyone was always confident she’d emerge as a modern comedy great — not even her husband and co-star, Rob McElhenney.
During a recent sitdown he once had his doubts about the now-iconic comedienne after she accidentally “left out the funniest line” during her otherwise “awesome” It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia audition. “I don’t know if her instincts were 100 percent right, because she left out the funniest line,” he explained. “Now, is it a coincidence that I happened to write that line?
