The 27 Most Unintentionally Profound Things People Have Heard

Contrary to popular misconception, Goop’s gurus and the latest season of The White Lotus, enlightenment can’t actually be found through meditation, religion or sticking an overpriced Jade egg up various orifices. For one Redditor, uncovering “the reason” behind our mortal existence was a whole lot simpler: heading to the store and buying a bottle of bleach.

“It said, ‘Stand upright in a cool place,’” they recalled of their run-in with “the meaning of life.”

As several Redditors can attest, unconventional existential answers aren’t limited to the cleaning supply aisle. Below are some other unintentionally profound things people have come across in their lifetimes, the most poignant of which include Georgia gravestones, soccer commentators and Microsoft Word prompts.

Не said to me in his sort of broken english, rock must roll many time to get that round. and then started laughing hysterically, like he had been saving that joke for the last 40 years. I'm not even sure why I find it so profound, but I think about it
